These swords were created by dwarven smiths, but blessed by halfling priests of Arvoreen the Defender, the closest thing halflings have to a war god (although he is actually the halfling patron deity of defense and home). You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Additionally, if you are a halfling, this weapon is a instead a shortsword +2 when used against enemies larger than you are, and if you are acting in defense of your homeland, attack rolls with a shortsword of Arvoreen are made at advantage.
Proficiency with a shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
