A list of deals the party has currently made, and who it's made them with.
Save Elturel
Given by: Everyone, I guess?
It's sort of the whole reason you're here. Three things have to happen for this:
- Bellandi's infernal contract with Zariel must be nullified.
- If both halves of the infernal contract are brought together and then destroyed, the contract is nullified. This can be accomplished via a variety of extremely powerful means: dipping the paired contracts into the Styx, the breath of an extremely powerful ancient dragon (Tiamat?), or a wish spell.
- If Zariel is redeemed, she would likely nullify all her prior infernal contracts.
- If Zariel is killed, all her infernal contracts become null and void.
- The chains holding Elturel must be severed.
- Elturel must be returned to the Material Plane.
Retrieve the Sword of Zariel
Given by: a vision from Torm
A vision from Torm has stated that the Sword of Zariel is "the key to her heart" as well as the key to freeing the city. He says that the hollyphant Lulu knows its location, though due to the effects of the River Styx she does not know what she knows. All anyone knows is the sword is somewhere in Avernus, but even Zariel has not managed to find it.
Fix Mad Maggie's Dream Machine
Given by: Mad Maggie
Mad Maggie, the hag who runs Fort Knucklebones, says that her Dream Machine -- a combination of infernal technology and hag magic -- can help spelunk through Lulu's dreams and memories, finding even things she has forgotten, and thus can help find the Sword of Zariel. However, she needs four components:
- Astral pistons
- Phlegethosian sand (obtained from Mordenkainen for 15 soul coins)
- a Nirvanan cogbox
- a hag's heartstone (retrieved from Plagueshield Point)
Help Smiler Get Revenge
Given by: Smiler the Defiler
The party has agreed to help the former warlord Smiler get revenge on his former gang and fellow warlord Bitter Breath, in exchange for a portion of his stash of soul coins, a well as anything Bitter Breath has accumulated on his own.
Free Uldrak from his Curse
Given by: Uldrak the Tinker
The party has agreed to take an orb of dragonkind to Arkhan the Cruel and ask him to exchange it for the reliquary of Tiamat's blood that he wears around his neck. If Uldrak spills this blood on the sands of Avernus, he will be returned to his empyrean form and freed to leave Hell at last.
Don't Die to the Orthon Hunting You
Given by: Zulozus the Tracker
Zulozus the Tracker, an orthon, announced he would begin hunting the party after a 36-hour head start. It has been 36 hours. Don't die, because he's probably going to find you eventually.
