Calendar of Harptos

The Calendar of Harptos is the calendar used across most of Faerûn, created by the wizard Harptos of Kaalinth. It splits the calendar into 12 months, each made of three tendays, for a total of thirty days. There are also five days that lie outside of a month, for a total of 365 days per year. And yes, the Harptos calendar also allows for leap years.

Dates are typically written with the number of the date of the month followed by the month, so for example '7th Mirtul' or '7 Mirtul'. If precision is needed it could also be written as, for example, 'the seventh day of the first tenday of Mirtul'.

   • Midwinter falls between 30 Hammer and 1 Alturiak

3. Ches (Spring Equinox is on 19 Ches)
4. Tarsakh
   • Greengrass falls between 30 Tarsakh and 1 Mirtul
5. Mirtul
6. Kythorn (Summer Solstice is on 20 Kythorn)
7. Flamerule
   • Midsummer falls between 30 Flamerule and 1 Eleasis
   • Every four years, Shieldmeet occurs the day after Midsummer
8. Eleasis
9. Eleint (Autumn Equinox is on 21 Eleint)
   • Highharvestide falls between 30 Eleint and 1 Marpenoth

11. Uktar
    • Feast of the Moon falls between 30 Uktar and 1 Nightal
12. Nightal (Winter Solstice is on 20 Nightal)
